CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BUSHNELL,
COUNTY OF MCDONOUGH, ILLINOIS, HELD IN SAID CITY
ON MONDAY, APRIL 2, 2012 AT 3:00 PM
The meeting was called to order by Mayor Russell. The pledge of Allegiance was said and roll was taken with the following officers present:
Ald. Pauline McDonald Mayor Steve Russell
Ald. Dwight Taflinger City Clerk Donna Coates
Ald. Mike Howell “A” Treasurer Dan Cortelyou
Ald. David Norton City Attorney Steve Holland
Ald. Jerry Merrick Police Chief Merv Hilliard “A”
Ald. Denny Brown Utilities Manager Mike McCleery “A”
Ald. Bruce Lorton Superintendent David Raymond “A”
A special meeting was called to adopt a Sales Tax Levy Ordinance.
Ald. Crawford made a motion to adopt Ordinance No. 2012-1 which states, “A tax is hereby imposed upon all persons engaged in the business of selling tangible personal property, other than an item of tangible personal property titled and registered with an agency of this State’s government, at retail in this municipality at the rate of .5% of the gross receipts from such sales made on the course of such business while this Ordinance is in effect; and a tax is hereby imposed upon all persons engaged in this municipality in the business of making sales of service, at the rate of .5% of the selling price of all tangible personal property transferred by such serviceman as an incident to a sale of service. Ald. Taflinger seconded the motion. A roll call was taken and the results of that vote are as follows:

Ald. Howell “A” Ald. Lorton “aye”
Ald. Norton “aye” Ald. Crawford “aye”
Where upon Mayor Russell declared the motion carried.
Ald. Lorton made a motion to waive 2nd reading on Ordinance 2012-1 and it was seconded by Ald. Crawford. A roll call vote was taken and the results of that vote are as follows:
Ald. McDonald “aye” Ald. Merrick “aye”
Ald. Taflinger “aye” Ald. Brown “aye”
Ald. Howell “A” Ald. Lorton “aye”
Ald. Norton “aye” Ald. Crawford “aye”
Where upon Mayor Russell declared the motion carried.
Ald. Merrick made a motion to adjourn. Hearing no further objections, the mayor declared the meeting closed. |
