City Council Meeting Minutes

CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BUSHNELL, ILLINOIS
COUNTY OF MCDONOUGH, ILLINOIS, HELD IN SAID CITY
MONDAY FEBRUARY 15, 2010 AT 5:30 PM

The Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag was given.

Mayor Russell called the meeting to order. Roll was called with the following officers and members present:

Ald. Kevin Crawford

The minutes of a regular meeting held February 1, 2009 were presented for approval. Ald. Merrick made a motion to approve the minutes. Ald. Crawford seconded the motion. A roll call vote was taken and the results of that vote are as follows:

Ald. Howell "A" Ald. Lorton "aye"
Ald. Norton "A" Ald. Crawford "aye"
Whereupon the Mayor declared the motion carried.

Ald. Lorton made a motion to accept the January 2010 Financial Report. Ald. McDonald seconded the motion. A roll call vote was taken and the results of that vote are as follows:

Whereupon the Mayor declared the motion carried.

City Treasurer, Dan Cortelyou, went over the audit with the council. He also set up budget meetings for Monday, March 1, 2010 at City Hall and they are as follows:

Motor Fuel Tax 3:00
Parks/Recreation 3:15
Police Department 3:30

Water & Sewer 4:00
Street & Alley 4:30

Ald. McDonald said the next Parks/Recreation meeting will be March 9, 2010 at the recreation center at 4:00 p.m. She also reported the Chili Cook-Off is February 27th at the VFW at 5:00 p.m. with an auction to follow. She said the Father/Daughter Dance was well attended. The Spring Fling/Tom Downs retirement party will be held on April 24th at the VFW. She also reported the Bushnell Park District has a couple of fundraisers coming up. A quiz bowl will be held at the VFW on March 13th and a dodge ball tournament at the B-PC Jr. High and High School on April 17th.

David Raymond, Supervisor of Streets, told the council the televising crew will be back tomorrow, February 16, 2010. He also thanked Mike McCleery and his crew for helping on the last snow removal project.

Ald. Lorton told the council that in March Officer Fosdyck will be attending supervisor classes in Peoria. He also reported that Officer Hood will be attending a D.A.R.E. class in May where he will be spending the night. The cost of the course is $1,150 and the motel and meals is approximately $130. Officer Howerter started the PTI course on February 14th with a graduate date of May 7th. The next police committee meeting will held on March 8th at the Police Department at 5:00 p.m.

Donna Coates, City Clerk, reminded the council that the Bushnell Safety Awareness day is March 27th at the Bushnell Recreation Center. The next ESDA meeting is February 25 at 4:00 p.m. at the Municipal Complex.

Ald. Lorton reported that the 1st session for the mapping project will be February 25, 2010 at the B-PC Elementary School.

Mayor Russell reported that the next MAEDCO meeting is March 9th at 7:30 a.m. in Macomb and the next Enterprise Zone meeting will be April 15, 2010 at 4:00 p.m. which will also be in Macomb.

Mike McCleery, Utility Supervisor, ask the Personnel & Finance committee to meet with the Utility Board. Ald. Merrick set up a meeting for February 23rd at 5:00 p.m. at City Hall.

Ald. Merrick made a motion to adjourn. Hearing no further objections, the mayor declared the meeting closed.
